I ended up covering a class I wasn't booked for, I was booked to cover a KS1 class but when I arrived I was covering KS2?
Unfortunately this can happen, plans change all the time, as a supply teacher you need to be prepared to cover alternative classes if needed. Always arrive at a school prepared, never assume work is left for you.
The ideal situation is that you will get more than 24 hours, for you to organise yourself, however it doesn’t always end up this way! It can be as short notice as the morning of the day, this can be for a number of different reasons, but just make sure you’re prepared each morning just in case.
Since 1st April 2016, it is a legal requirement for not only Teachers but for all Teaching Assistants to be fully registered with the EWC (Education Workforce Council) more information can be found here www.ewc.wales
As an agency, we can introduce you to our client schools but when you are in full filling your days work it’s down to you to make the lasting impression and build relationships with your colleagues, which we’re confident you will anyway.
You will be paid weekly.
Aim to get to school by 8:15am, not every school start at the same time so this way, you won’t be late and it gives you enough time to get lost a couple of times!
Yes, unless told otherwise.
