DIOGELU AC AMDDIFYN PLANT

Supply staff have a tough job when they are booked into any school to be adaptable between classes and maintain standards of the school. Like every school employee, we undergo stringent process to ensure that each member of staff is vetted, checked and trained in all areas of Safeguarding.

We can all recognise signs of child abuse and neglect if we are aware of the signs. We want to ensure that each child is safe and feels safe in our supply staffs care so we want to make it as hard as possible for anyone who doesn’t support our Safeguarding and Child Protection policy to get through the net and work in our schools.

What is our process to ensure that each candidate is compliant?

  • We hold valid DBS’s on each candidate and those who need to process a new one can do so through Addysg Seren Education.
  • We obtain two references on all candidates.
  • Face to face interviews
  • Check authenticity of qualification certificates
  • Check two proofs of ID and check their authenticity.
  • Ensure that each candidate are registered with the EWC (Education Workforce Council)
  • Our Disciplinary Policy is available to all candidates of the process that is expected should a safeguarding issue occur in their care.
  • Hold a working history on each candidate and gaps between dates are explained.
  • Information on each candidate that works in a school has access to information on the candidate from our portal where they can view their picture, DBS number and issue date and confirmation of their EWC registration.
  • Recruitment Consultants have completed an NSPCC course on ‘Safer recruitment in Education’
